Computer Graphics:
Computer Graphics is an art of drawing pictures, lines, charts etc using computers with help of programming. computer graphics is made up of number of pixels. Pixel is the smallest graphical picture or unit represented on the computer screen.
Two types of computer graphics :
1. Interactive computer graphics
2. Non interactive computer graphics
Interactive computer graphics:
Interactive computer graphics involves a two way communication between computer and user. The observer is given some control over the image.
Ex: Video game
Non - Interactive computer graphics:
Non-Interactive computer graphics known as passive computer graphics. In non-interactive computer graphics user does not have any kind of control over the image. the image is totally under the control of program instructions not under the user.
Ex: Screen savers.
Uses of Computer Graphics:
1. Computer Aided Design:
Major use of Computer Graphics is in design process, particularly for engineering and architectural system. Software packages for CAD application typically provide the designer with a multi-window environment.
2. Presentation Graphics:
Presentation graphics is commonly used to summarize financial, statistical, mathematical, scientific and economic data for research reports.
Typical examples of presentation graphics are bar charts, line graphs, surface graphs and pie charts
3. Computer graphics methods are used in both fine art and commercial art application. The basic idea behind a paint brush program that allows artists to "paint" pictures on the screen of a video monitor.
4. Entertainment:
Computer graphics methods are now commonly used in making motion pictures, music, videos
and television shows.
5. Educational and training :
Specialized systems are the simulation for practice sessions or training of ship captains, air craft, heavy -equipment operators traffic control personal.
6. Visualization :
Scientists, engineers, medical personal, business analysis and others often need to analyze large amounts of information or to study the behavior of certain processes.
7.Image processing:
In computer graphics, a computer is used to create a picture. Image processing , on the other hand , applies techniques to modify or interpret existing pictures. such as photographs and TV shows.
Video Display Device:
Video display devices are used to used to display the text and graphics information.
